“ I loved Kettner so much the first time that I had to try it again! But 2nd time did not impress to the same extent. First-off, they changed their cocktail menu, so the curry drink I was craving was no longer available. :( Next, the dishes were saltier than last time (even for the same exact dishes that we ordered last time). It didn't have the nice balance of flavors... maybe it was an off-day or something. Service was mid- and felt they were not as attentive. Volume is also pretty loud, so challenging to converse with a group. Though I still enjoyed the meal and the experience, because I had such high expectations that were unmet, Kettner has been bumped from my top 5. ”

“ Celebrated a friends birthday here and we loved the vibe! We had a few drinks at the bar downstairs while waiting for our table to be ready. The drinks were amazing! We had a Post Water Malone, Butterfly Effect, and an Old Fashioned. Our table was on the second floor with a cool view of the downtown area. The menu is small plates designed to share with the table. Everything we tried was delicious! After dinner we had drinks and hung out at the Rooftop bar. Such a fun night! ”

“ I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and we had a blast ! We were going to go to the upstairs bar where there was a deejay but we stayed at the downstairs bar the whole night ! We had so much fun ate good food, drank delicious drinks met so many people shout out to Chris ! The duck meat ball a must! The garlic noodles delicious! And the birthday dessert worth it all ! Definitely coming back. ”

“ Stopped by here because of a recommendation from a friend who used to live In the city. The aesthetics and interior inside was so nice. It was dim, moody and had a lot of open space. Pet friendly as well and they let us bring my dog and sat us upstairs outside. Food was surprisingly good. I don't have super high expectations but everything was delicious. We got the duck meatball and the meat was so soft and tender with the sauce being creamy and tart and perfectly balanced. We also got the Szechuan noodles and that was delicious as well. Food: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Ambience: 9.5/10 TIP: you can ask for a side of bread with the duck meatballs to finish the rest of the sauce. It's not on the menu but they are able to make some up for you ”

“ I can't believe it's been so long for me to come here! We were seated upstairs where they have a covered patio. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant is elegant and festive since it's the holiday season. We shared the pig mac, spicy tuna crispy rice, whipped buttermilk ricotta, and the hot and spicy garlic noodles. The garlic noodles and the spicy tuna were my favorites! All of these were easily shared. To drink, I ordered the French 69 and the rhubarb flavor was great for the festive season! ”

“ this is a moody fine dining vibe restaurant, pretty neat experience and I thought the restaurant was quite nice. food was fine, tiny portions and high prices, I guess that's expected from places like this but I will rate off the fact it's no worth it at all and I would never come back or recommend it. again not *bad*, just not worth. I will say the dessert was labeled as honey toast which means something totally else at asian places but found the dessert extremely over toasted and lackluster. waitress was super nice and comped one but i'm surprised they're even getting away w serving this. maybe you'd think it taste good as a fusion food or someone w no expectation of what honey toast is ”

“ Always have a great time at Kettner Exchange. Celebrated my birthday here recently with dear friends. If you're in a group like mine (6 people) it's best to order a little bit of everything on the menu. They do have a lot of tapas style options. Everything was delicious, you cannot go wrong on anything on the menu. We ordered: Cucumber salad (good ) Spicy tuna crispy rice (Yum! Worth it to order ) Pig Mac (delicious) Coconut rice ( it was okay , very strong coconut flavors) Hot and spicy garlic noodles (my favorite, does have a spicy kick to it) Roasted Mary duck ( yummy ) Spicy shrimp ( must have ) Let's just say we also doubled a lot of the dishes above lol I throughly enjoyed the dirty verde cocktails ( very refreshing) ordered a few of those wasn't a big fan of the rice and shine cocktail. After hours they do have a live DJ playing music and it turns in a mix and mingle spot, with a younger-ish crowd. Kettner Exchange is that spot you gotta visit while in San Diego! ”

“ Don't even question coming here, just go, because it's always such a good experience! I've been to Kettner many times and everything is just wonderful; the food, service, drinks, and it's beautiful in there! Last night I celebrated my birthday here with a friend and decided to walk in to the bar area, if you plan on having dinner, I suggest looking into reservations, it does get busy quickly during the weekends. Our bartender Chris made it an unforgettable night, he made some of the best cocktails I've ever had. (Also, Kettner really does have one of the best espresso martinis.) I also have enjoyed every dish I've tried from here, everything has such great detail and unique flavors. Duck meatball and tuna sashimi will always be my favorites. You really can't go wrong with a spot that has great service, good food, amazing drinks, and all the vibes! ”
